Grammy Edition: Celeb's Throwing Shady Glances?

So, we've been stressing for years now that every word you put on social media could be critiqued and used against you.  Now, we're taking this warning to a whole new level.  In my recent post-awards-show social media monitoring, I've noticed an interesting trend taking shape.  We are no longer just being held accountable for every word, but every FACE we make too!

A perfect example of this happened during last night's Grammy Awards.  Taylor Swift won for Best Album of the Year, and gave a kind-of-empowerment speech about getting credit for your own hard work.  During the speech, the cameras panned the audience, and happened across singer Toni Kelly.  Toni's face appeared slightly less than pleased, and EVERYBODY noticed.  Headlines started going around that Toni was giving "shady side eye" to Taylor and rumors started that they must not like each other.  All from one second of a facial expression.

This isn't the first time this has happened. Just a month ago at the Golden Globes, one of the most popular post-show stories on social media was a gif of Leonardo DiCaprio's face when Lady Gaga passed and bumped him on her way to get her award.  Again, accusations of Leo "throwing major shade" at Gaga flooded social media.

Is this fair? Do you think these celebs are really hating on each other, or just caught by a camera at a bad moment?

International Kissing Day: Pucker up!

Pucker Up!
It is International Kissing Day.
This day originated out of the UK but has been accepted worldwide to celebrate all the loveliness in a good, old-fashioned lip-lock!
So grab your honey and give them a smooch.  While you are at it, check out this week's top news on celeb love, who is lip-locked in love and who is kissing love goodbye!

Lip-Locked in Love
The gorgeous Vanessa Williams tied the knot this weekend, marrying her fiancé Jim Skrip.  Jim, a former accountant, and Vanessa, who is on her third marriage, had a lavish wedding over the holiday weekend in Buffalo, New York.  And of course, Vanessa looked fierce as ever in her wedding gown, designed by Carmen Marc Valvo!

Kissing Love Goodbye
The biggest news on Twitter today was Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are kissing love goodbye after almost a DECADE together.  The news broke earlier today and I was shocked.  According to Twitter fans of the show, there have been signs of this on Keeping Up With The Kardashians for months.  But, still, I am hopeful that they will patch things up.

What do you think was the most smooch-worthy news of the weekend?

Renee Zellweger Edition

Plastic surgery and celebrities go together sort of like peanut butter and jelly these days.  It’s not a big shock anymore when someone gets a nose job or lip injections or a nip or tuck here or there.  Yawn, old news.

But not so much this week with Renee Zellweger.  Social media went CRAZY after Renee made a rare red carpet appearance on Monday at the Elle Women in Hollywood party, and debuted her new look. I don’t even want to speculate about what surgeries were used to get the new look (though I kinda just think it’s an eye lift!?),  but let’s just be honest, she definitely looks different.

This change has led to quite a few conversations on Twitter, blogs and Facebook.  Of course, "do we like it or not", but those who don’t like the new look have been very vocal about their opinions, spurring Renee’s defenders to start hashtags like #StopBullying and accusing nay-sayers of cyber bullying.

What do you think of Renee’s new look?

Brad & Angie Wed: But What About The Dress!?

I always laugh a little when I see people post complaints about their news feed.  Obviously they don't know you can block people!
Many gripe that their feed is full of "just weddings and babies".
Well, if you want something in that genre but a little more exciting, how about a secret, surprise wedding of two of the most famous people on the planet!
That will get your news feed, Twitter feed or just about anything going!

And that's what we got this weekend when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married in Chateau Miraval, France.

And while everyone is ringing the news, I have one prevailing question that I am sure every diva out there wants to know.

What did Angie's dress look like!!!?

Trust me, friends, I have scoured every site and have not found a picture.  When I do I will post it but, sigh, it might never happen knowing these two and their secrecy!

E! News did report a little gossip on the topic from a "trusted insider" saying the gown was "very traditional, but very Angie, it was comfortable but plain white floor-length antique lace and silk."

Sounds lovely, but I guess we'll just have to use our imaginations for now!  Hey, at least Angie got in the white dress before Labor Day!!

What designer would you dress Angie in for her big day?

Should Kobe Be Tweeting From The Sidelines?  You Tell Me...

Celebrity tweets and live tweeting from big events seem to be cornerstones of the twittersphere.
But this weekend's Lakers game showed us that the two don't always mesh well.

Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, who was benched in this weekend's first playoff game due to an injured achilles, live tweeted his thoughts and reactions about the game for his fans and followers. I was pretty surprised by the reaction, and it looks like Kobe was too.  He received a lot of criticism for "attention-whoring" and for critiquing his teammates during their game.  Retweets, trending topics and most of the game's attention seemed to be focused on Kobe's Twitter remarks.  Enough so that Kobe sent out a pretty cryptic tweet on Monday that seems like he won't be live-tweeting anymore.

Like I said, I was pretty shocked by this.  I think its an awesome way to connect with fans.  You KNOW Kobe is dying sitting on the bench and just wishing he could play.  Why not use Twitter as a platform to get those thoughts out!? Plus, you would guess that most of his followers are his FANS.  Wouldn't you think fans would love an inside view into the mind of their future Hall of Famer!?

Help me out here.  Am I missing something?  Do you think Kobe should stop the sideline Tweets?

The Haircut Heard Around The World

Oh, the world of social media!  Isn't it quite ironic that the day after I post about using Social Media for the good of all mankind, THIS happens.
Yes, my friends.  It's another Celebrity Haircut Heard Around The World.

Not since the Britney Spears Head Shaving of 2007 have we heard this much commotion over a haircut.

This week, Miley Cyrus is sporting a new 'do.

Quite drastic, yes.  But I think in the picture she looks very cute and spunky!

The real amazement is how the Twittersphere reacted!  Thousands of tweets about Miley's new tresses hit Twitter this week, bringing "Miley Cyrus" to Twitter Trending status for days.

The public really was against the haircut.  That is, until word got out that she donated her hair to cancer patients.

Miley's defiantly positive attitude was apparent through her tweets; she let the world know that she was happy with her choice.

She gave to a great cause and she seems so happy with it!  I say Rock it Girl!!

What do you think of the backlash on Miley's haircut?
